Play Pots is a paint your own pottery studio, Soft Play and Cafe Ceramic Studio in Stirling Scotland.

Offering a large variety of unpainted ceramics for all the family to choose from, with prices starting at just £6.00. Customers choose their desired piece and decide the type of paint required (glaze or acrylic) then take it to the table and let their imagination and creativity run wild.

A member of staff is on hand to help and support with the creative process and there are many painted samples and books available for those needing some inspiration.

With no studio fee to pay and all prices including all paints, materials and firing (applicable to glaze paints only, firing takes place once or sometimes twice a week normally a friday and/or monday, so be sure to check when items will be ready for collection) it is so simple to come along and get started.

Not had enough time to complete your piece? No problem - simply come back at a later date to finish it off and one of the team will put it in our uncompleted masterpieces cupboard. Just pay when you do your 1st session then come back at a time to suit to complete it and leave it for firing.

No booking is required merely drop in at a time to suit you and see how much fun you could have creating your very own unique work of art. Customers wishing to paint should ensure arrival at the studio by approx 4.15 to allow adequate time to create your piece.

Free soft play, ample free parking - a great day out whatever the weather in a relaxed and friendly environment. An activity that the whole family can enjoy! Our friendly staff are always on hand to help make your visit fun and a day out to remember!

We are open 7 days from 10am - 5pm including banks holidays (except christmas and new year, where we do take some well earned rest)

Play Pots Parties/Group Events

Our childrens party package cost £11.50 per person which includes an item from our £6.00/£7.00 pottery range painted in acrylic paint (so it can go home on the day of the party in the party bag), the use of the soft play facility and party food.

We do all the hard work including the cleaning up, so all you need to do is provide the birthday cake then sit back, relax and enjoy a coffee while the children express themselves and burn off some energy.

Why not have a themed party? We have disney shapes, Mr Men pieces, Fairies, Dragons, Dinosaurs etc. Prices for themed parties available on request.

The party food consists of cheese, ham and jam, tuna or chocolate spread sandwiches, cocktail sausages, selection of mini cakes, biscuits, crisps, fruit and jugs of squash/water. Other food options and party packages are available upon request.

Each party lasts 1 1/2 hours, and can be booked at the following times subject to availability 11am - 12.30pm, 1pm - 2.30pm, or 3pm - 4.30pm. Minimum numbers of 8 children up to a maximum of 30 can enjoy this unique and fun party experience. Parties may be booked outwith these times but may be subject to an additional fee for out of hours trading. A £20 non refundable deposit is required to secure the booking with the remaining balance payable on the day of the party.

Or why not bring along your brownies/guides etc for a fun art session - out of hours bookings are available for groups of 12 or more painters.

We can also come to you
We can visit your school,nursery or playgroup. We bring all required materials and even tidy up afterwards. If you are doing a particular theme then tell us and we can try to supply ceramics to suit the project. A discount will normally apply for large group bookings - just ask at the studio at time of booking. Please see our separate Parties and Group Events page for more information.

Play Pots Ladies Night
Looking for something different to do with a group of friends? Then why not bring them along to one of our ladies nights? They take place on the last Thursday of each month from April through to December from 7pm till 10.30pm. So why not get a group of friends together, bring along a bottle of wine or 2 and let your creative juices flow!!

A £5 deposit per person is required to secure your place, with a minimum spend of £10 per painter on the evening. You choose what you wish to paint and we can provide help and support to create your masterpiece.

For groups of 12 painters or more a private evening event can be booked on a day and time to suit you and if required a buffet can be provided at a cost of £5 per person. Please contact the studio for more information.

Glass Fusing
As well as ceramic painting we can offer glass fusing - this involves decorating a glass blank using coloured pieces of glass (such as frit, mosiacs, noodles) to create a unique design. Once decorated with your choice of design the items are left in the studio to be fired which fuses the glass together. Glass firing takes place only once a month so be sure to check when your item will be fired and ready for collection. Prices for this start from £8. Glass work may only be done by customers aged 10 years old or above. This is a good activity for guide groups or hen parties and can be offered as an alternative to a painting party for older children. Prices for a fused glass party from £13.50.

Name Plaques
Name plaques for childrens bedrooms are available to order. These are made to your specific requirements including choice of colour for the letters, colour for back mount board, and a choice of ribbon or beads for hanging. These are commissioned pieces and normally require 1 week to complete. Prices for these start from £14 for a 3 letter name.

Play Pots Cafe
We have a cafe on site offering a range of coffees, teas and cakes, or why not stay for lunch and try a toastie, sandwich or baked potato? With a free soft play also in the premises we can provide the perfect place to meet friends, or to bring the kids for a fun day out. With such a large and varied product range we really can cater for all ages and budgets.

Play Pots Keepsakes
Cherished Impressions - Hand and Footprint Keepsakes.
Why not create a fabulous keepsake of your childs early years with an everlasting momento of their hands and/or feet? The ideal keepsake for the parents themselves or a beautiful gift for grandparents. They come in a variety of options from a simple painted hand and footprint with written mesage onto a ceramic item such as a plate or mug, or why not choose from a clay impression, 3d plaster outprint or 3d decorative casts? All customised to suit your particular requirements - choose your colour, frame and message at time of order and we will call you once the items are ready for collection.

Play Pots Entwined Hands
Why not try getting a casting of entwined hands. These can be done for 2 children, a child and adult or 2 adults (a good idea to mark an engagement of wedding). Prices for these start from £40. We can also supply beautiful glass display boxes to finish these and ensure that they are kept safe and protected from damage.

Cherished Impressions - Fingerprint Jewellery
Looking for something extra special then what about a special piece of silver with your childs fingerprint captured in the clay? We can create pendents for necklaces, charms, keyrings or cufflinks using a product called precious metal clay. All items are 99.9% pure silver once fired and can be engraved on the reverse with your childs name or initial.

Add in a buffet at £5 per person and of course you can BYOB, and you have the makings of a fun night out.

Other information
Looking for a special treat for your group then why not come to us? Especially popular in the lead up to key events like Easter, Halloween and Christmas - when we offer special seasonal shapes.

We stay open for you and can hold the event at your normal meeting day and time. A supplementary fee may be applicable depending on numbers within your group.

Just decide the theme and whether you want to do acrylic or glaze paints and leave the rest to us. A group discount is available for 12 or more painters and free juice and biscuit is provided for each child in the group. Of course they can also use the soft play whilst they are here to burn off some steam.

Play Pots Personalised Gifts
Create a unique and personal gift for a special occasion - we have many designs to choose from including signature plates to commemorate weddings, engagements, anniversaries, retirements, special birthdays.

Not artistic but like the idea of a personalised gift? Then why not commission us to create your piece? Simply choose your ceramic piece, select colours and messages, and provide a design (or we can help create that with you) and leave the rest to us. A commissioning fee will be applied on top of the price of the ceramic chosen. Please contact studio for more details.

School/Nursery/Playgroup Visits
We can come to you to allow your class or group to undertake a ceramic painting session. We do not charge for our time although any bookings outwith Stirling may be subject to travel expenses. Group discounts may apply depending on the size of your group. Please contact the studio to check availablility or to discuss your requirements.
